We chose bt because it was close to a wedding that we attended. Althugh we intended to check in before the wedding, we didn't because of travel delays. We showed up past midnight and the staff had left a room key for us and instructions about how to secure access. That was wonderful.
The staff were welcoming and helpful. The reception rooms were stylish and bright and the breakfast was great. Lovely garden and location.
The room was clean and fairly comfortable but the decor and furnishings looked as though they had seen better days. After the brightness and style of the reception rooms it was a little disappointing. However, I gather there are plans for upgrading. this will make a huge difference.
Excellent service from very polite and attentive staff. Beautiful gardens.
My only criticism is that, once one gets through reception, the decor, and carpets are a bit tired. Also a few cracked windows, scuffed paint work and wall paper, in the passage ways.
Very pleasant staff; pleasant location and tasteful surroundings; pleasant and comfortable rooms; nice breakfast.
It was a pity - though this is not really anyone's fault - that the restaurant is not open on Sunday evenings, and that I could not get any definite information about where it might be possible to eat instead. It would be a good idea to have some dependable information about the opening and closing hours of other establishments - I know that nine o'clock on a Sunday evening is late, but Farnham is a well-heeled and sophisticated place - there was probably somewhere! Perhaps I should have asked the desk staff to make some telephone calls for me.
Good to have a single room that was spacious, well furnished and very comfortable. I was allowed to check in early which was very helpful and I appreciated being shown to my room.
Loose toilet seat. TV did not work properly. No radio. Pretty weak shower. Paint work could do with a fresh coat.
Lovely Victorian style building. Main street of the town, closely to all facilities, shops, restorans, historical places. Wonderful around architecture - from middle ages up to 1950s. Staff is very pleasant.
Absoultely awful! Put up with the stuff falling off the walls, loo roll holder and soap dish and outdated shower...but when the ceiling caved in due to someone having a shower upstairs we drew the line!
Warm welcome,friendly excellent breakfast
No facility to have an evening meal,as a senior solo traveller you dont want to walk strange streets at night. Also rom was furthest away and up steps. To be fair they took my case up but I had to bring it down.
Nice and quiet and service very good breakfast.
Front of house was very nice and the dining area was very good
Rooms out the back are awful. Do not live up to what was expected
The position of the hotel is perfect - right in town, yet very tranquil and quiet. The staff were very polite, friendly and responded to my requests/problems immediately....it was very hot and a fan was swiftly brought to my room. The electrics in my room went off and this was fixed within five minutes. I didn't eat there, but could see from the number of diners that this is a popular dining spot with guests and non residents. The garden area was especially lovely and relaxing. Lovely atmosphere.
I was in the annexe area so can't comment on the main hotel rooms, but I felt my room was very small and dated for the price charged. The carpets throughout the annexe were very dirty. The tv was a tiny old analogue one with only 4 channels, the shower was barely a drizzle and the "hollywood" style lights round the bathroom mirror not only looked out of place but were blazing hot to the point of being painful to stand in front of.
Quirky. Amazing beautiful old fashioned bed. Great food. Friendly staff.
Some areas are looking tired and need some tlc. The garden could be beautiful but needs a good gardener and some work.
The pleasant staff and it isvery central
very poor breakfast
The staff were very friendly and eager to be of service. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and the food was good. The reception rooms and dining room were comfortable and pleasantly decorated.
The bedrooms, although adequate, were tired and needed a revamp. The tv was ancient for this day and age. I was unable to make a hot drink as the water tasted like swimming pool water! I was not impressed when the restaurant had no places for residents on the second day of my stay due to a large party who were already booked in for a buffet.
Very comfortable bedroom and extremely attentive staff. Excellent breakfasts.
